DBU Baseball's Burl Carraway was named a Third Team Preseason All-American by Perfect Game on Tuesday.  Carraway, a junior from College Station, Texas, is one of just six relief pitchers to be featured on this year's Perfect Game Preseason All-America Team.

Carraway is coming off a sophomore season in which he earned First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors after posting a 4-2 record with a 2.81 ERA and a team-high six saves.  The flame-throwing lefty also totaled 72 strikeouts in 42.1 innings and his 15.72 strikeouts per nine innings ranked second best in DBU Baseball history.

Following the Patriots' run to their sixth consecutive NCAA Regional, Carraway became the first player in school history to pitch for the U.S. Collegiate National Team.  During his summer stint with Team USA, Carraway did not allow a run in his five appearances on the mound.

Carraway and the Patriots open their 2020 season at home versus South Dakota State on Friday, February 14.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
