THE RUNDOWN
The Patriots finished their home schedule out on a winning note Saturday, defeating St. Mary's, 81-76. Senior day always brings a flood of emotions for players, coaches, and fans alike, and The Burg Center was buzzing as DBU played in front of the home faithful one last time in the 2019-2020 season.
DBU honored four seniors before the game: Carter Brown, Jonathyn Washington, Conner Lidiak, and Demola Onifade. Brown and Lidiak have been four-year players at DBU and the record books indicate the immense impact that they've had on the program. Brown is the program's all-time leader in both assists and steals, while Conner Lidiak cemented himself in third place for career three-pointers hit, finishing today's game with 204 for his career.
While St. Mary's gave DBU a heated battle throughout the game, the Patriots were able to hold the Rattlers at arm's length, maintaining a lead for the vast majority of the contest. In true Senior day form, Conner Lidiak and Jonathyn Washington both scored a team high 18 points, while Carter Brown added four more assists and three more steals to his illustrious record.
