LAST TIME OUT
The DBU Men's Tennis team looks to rebound from a couple of close losses last weekend. After falling 6-1 to Harding University, DBU pushed Collin College to the brink, losing 4-3 in the end. The guys will head to Brownwood to take on Howard Payne before making the trip to Abilene for matches against Hardin-Simmons and McMurry University.
PATRIOT STORYLINES
- Gabe Garrido, Grant McKenzie, Brian Nguyen, and Josh Williams all earned wins in single during the opening weekend.
- DBU is 9-3 all-time against Howard Payne. The Patriots swept the Yellow Jackets, 7-0, the last time these two squads met.
- While McMurry holds the series lead over DBU, 9-5 in favor of McMurry, the Patriots earned a 6-1 win the last time these teams met (Feb 9th, 2019).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
- Howard Payne will be making their 2020 debut against DBU on Friday afternoon.
- Hardin-Simmons will also make their season debut against the Patriots. The Cowboys were picked to finish second in the American Southwest Conference according to the preseason poll.
- McMurry is 0-2 after dropping their first two contests to East Texas Baptist and LeTourneau University.
