Patriots' Jones Walks Off Oral Roberts in the Ninth

THE LEAD
DBU won in walk-off fashion for the third time this season as it took game one of a three-game series Friday night in a 3-2 win over Oral Roberts. Ray Gaither tossed a season-high seven innings while striking out seven and walking one. Blayne Jones notched his 13th RBI of the season scoring Jackson Glenn on a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth.

Jimmy Glowenke got DBU on the board in the bottom of the third with a base-hit through the left side of the infield to plate Jace Grady.

ORU would answer in the top of the sixth on a two-run homer from the bat of Jordan Wiley to put ORU on top 2-1.

In the sixth, Christian Boulware worked a ten pitch at bat capitalizing with an RBI single scoring Blayne Jones to knot the game at 2-2.

The Patriots got the first two runners on in the bottom of the ninth on back-to-back walks, bringing up Jimmy Glowenke who hit into a double play. With Glenn on third and two outs, Blayne Jones delivered a walk-off single to clinch game one for the Patriots.

Peyton Sherlin earned the win in relief throwing an inning of one-hit baseball. Kragen Kechely tossed a perfect eighth while striking out a pair. Gaither, Sherlin, and Kechely struck out a combined ten on the evening.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - Adding three more tonight, Jimmy Glowenke now has a six game hitting streak.
 - Glowenke and Blayne Jones went 6-for-10 on the evening with two RBI.
 - DBU hit .455 with runners in scoring position (5-11).
