Trent Phelps of the DBU Men's Track & Field team was named to the 2019-2020 Academic All-America Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Wednesday.  Phelps, a graduate student from Tyler, Texas, was tabbed a Second Team selection and boasts a 4.00 grade point average in the Kinesiology master's program, while also compiling a perfect 4.00 GPA as an undergrad at DBU.

Phelps capped off a decorated collegiate career this spring when he helped lead the DBU Men's Distance Medley Relay team to a first place finish at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships.  The Patriots' four-year standout also captured the conference title in the men's one mile.

Phelps was one of just two athletes from across the nation on this year's CoSIDA Academic All-America Team to post a 4.00 GPA as both an undergrad and graduate student.
