DBU advanced in the conference tournament for the first time since 2013 with a 3-0 win over Eastern New Mexico at the Burg Center on Tuesday night. The Lady Patriots, who hold the No. 6 seed in the LSC Tournament, notched 7 service aces while compiling a .311 hit percentage in the tournament win.
Halee Van Poppel led all scorers with 14 kills, and five other Lady Patriots recorded at least 4 kills.
Kayla Brock (17) and
Aryn Walton (11) eclipsed double-digit assists, and
Leah Palensky chipped in 11 digs to contribute to the home sweep.

Halee Van Poppel was named the LSC Newcomer of the Year on Wednesday. Van Poppel ranks 7th in the NCAA and leads the conference with 4.39 kills per set. She was also tabbed a First Team All-LSC selection.

Leah Palensky was selected to the All-LSC Second Team on Wednesday. Palensky ranks 4th in the conference in digs per set (4.72).

Audrey Nunes earned All-LSC Freshman Team honors on Wednesday. Nunes currently ranks 33rd in the LSC and 2nd on the team in kills per set (2.34). Nunes is also 2nd on the team in solo blocks (8).
- In DBU's only other match against Lubbock Christian this season,
Audrey Nunes registered a career-high 17 kills.Â

SCOUTING LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN
- The Lady Chaps are the No. 3 seed in the LSC Tournament following a 14-3 record in conference play, and subsequently earned a first-round bye.
- Hannah Froeschl and Jalee Sims were named to the All-LSC First Team on Wednesday. Sage Chain garnered Second Team recognition, while Aaliyah Gray and Kendall Mahaney earned All-Freshman Team honors. Froeschl ranks 2nd in the LSC in blocks (98) and blocks per set (1.01). Sims sits at 4th in the conference in assists (827) and 6th in assists per set (8.71). Chain ranks 3rd in the LSC in blocks (94) and blocks per set (0.97). Gray ranks 20th among LSC attackers with 2.65 kills per set. Mahaney sits at 6th in the LSC in digs (417) and 11th in digs per set (4.30).
- LCU is seeking its first postseason win since 2016 and its first ever Lone Star Conference Tournament win.

ALL TIME SERIES
DBU trails the series 3-12 dating back to 2013. Both teams met earlier this season on October 15, which resulted in a close 3-1 loss. The Lady Patriots' last win over LCU came on November 2, 2017, in a 3-1 victory at the Burg Center.
