THE RUNDOWN
No. 15 DBU defeated Southwestern Adventist 112-62 Friday afternoon at the Burg Center. The Patriots shackled the Knights (1-6) to just 36 percent shooting to hand them their fourth consecutive loss. With Ricky Lujan held out of Friday's game, DBU (13-2) emptied its bench as Abraham Makumator (19 minutes), Grayson Buehler (27 minutes), and Michael Ayers (17 minutes) featured increased roles in the rotation.
The Patriots shook off their two-week perimeter shooting slump, converting over 50 percent (18-of-36) from downtown for the first time since January. DBU set the tone early with four team steals and 11 points from Chandler Jacobs by the opening media timeout.Â
Jacobs posted a game-high line of 8 rebounds and 25Â points on 75 percent shooting. He was joined in double figures by freshmen Cameron Kahn and Austin Garner, who each submitted career-high 20 point performances. Grayson Buehler finished with 15 points on 5-11 shooting as he reached double digits for the third time in his young career.Â
