The DBU Women's Tennis team is out to a 4-0 start after a 6-3 win over Hardin-Simmons and a 9-0 shutout of McMurry on Saturday in Abilene, Texas.Â
Taylor Leslie capped off the weekend with a perfect 4-0 mark in singles, winning both of her matches in flight 2 singles.Â
Ira Vogelmann also posted a 4-0 record in singles, notching two wins at the line 4 position on Saturday.
After missing Friday's opener,
Kate Daugherty returned to the court to pick up a pair of wins in line 1 singles.
The Lady Patriots also dominated in doubles play, winning five of their six matches against Hardin-Simmons and McMurry. The tandem of Daugherty and Leslie cruised to a pair of victories in line 1 doubles, while
Sarah Castleberry and
Adriana Carpenter teamed up to go 2-0 at the line 2 position.
In their four matches over the weekend, DBU posted a 20-2 record in singles play and went 10-1 in doubles. With the four wins to open the season, DBU is out 4-0 start for the second straight year.
