THE RUNDOWN
The Patriots bounced back on Friday night with an emphatic 10-3 win over Tarleton to even the series at one game apiece. DBU (10-6) combined another electric start from Dominic Hamel with an offense that scored in four different innings to earn the victory.
Dominic Hamel came into play tonight looking for redemption after giving up six earned runs against Oral Roberts last weekend. Hamel returned to his sterling form, striking out eight through six scoreless innings. Dominic had full control of his arsenal, blowing the express by some hitters, while fooling others with a diving slider. Chandler Arnold and Jared Pettitte also pitched in relief during the victory.
At the plate, the Patriots continued to string together fantastic at bats. DBU totaled ten runs on eight hits throughout the evening. It started in the second inning when Andrew Benefield scored on a wild pitch. The Patriots would tack two more on in the fourth, both via the free pass as Christian Boulware worked a walk and Dan Pruitt was hit by a pitch. Cole Moore bounced an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the fifth to make it 4-0 DBU.
The levy broke completely in the sixth inning as the Pats hung six runs on the Texans in short order. River Town singled and Cole Moore walked to drive in one run each. Andrew Benefield then smoked a 2-RBI single into center to make it 8-0 DBU. Moore and Benefield would each come in to score on wild pitches to end the scoring for the Pats.
The Texans would end the shutout in the seventh, scoring one run and following it up with two solo home runs in the ninth to conclude the offense for the evening.

- DBU secured their 31st win all time over the Tarleton Texans.

ANDREW BENEFIELD ON THE WIN
"I feel like I'm seeing it well lately. I just had to slow the game down a bit and find my pitch and drive it…The guys were upset we didn't pull off the comeback last night, but spirits were high. We had a feeling that we weren't going to come out and lose today and Dom came out and set the tone early. He absolutely competes. It's so fun to play behind him."
