COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF
In their last time out, the DBU Women's Soccer team traveled up to Wichita Falls and won its matchup with Midwestern State University by a score of 2-1; a score line which the Patriots have now won by for the second consecutive game.

DBU controlled the pace of play for the entirety of the match, maintaining possession of the ball for a large portion of the game. Going forward, the Patriots did an excellent job connecting passes and getting each other into dangerous areas. Several of the goals so far through this season have come from set pieces and crosses on the wing. In the matchup with MSU, DBU was able to connect on some passes from the midfield that would create two of the key opportunities that lead to assists for the goals from Delaney Schmidt and Ashley Merrill.

The midfield for the Patriots had another strong performance which played a big hand in helping DBU control the majority of the game. The defense that featured Marit Auee, Blythe Obar, Summerlyn Heller, and Gabrielle Heller lineup together for the first time this season did a strong job limiting the offense of MSU to just four total shots throughout the game.

PATRIOT STORYLINES
 - Marit Auee leads the Patriots in minutes played through the first three games of the year. Auee has played every minute, 273 in total, so far this season. Although she sits in the heart of the defense, Auee has a goal and an assist to her name.

 - DBU Graduate Assistant Coach Maggie Scales is in her first season on staff for the Patriots. Scales ended her career on the field as a Patriot as one of the most decorated DBU players of all time. During her time in the midfield for the Patriots, Scales was a four-time All-Conference selection, two-time Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Conference Player of the Year, three-time All-Region Selection, and 1st Team All-American. During her transition to the sideline for DBU, Scales has provided valuable insight to Michelle Lenard's coaching staff through her knowledge of the game and her proven skillsets.

 - This is the first season in which the Patriots have started off with a 3-0 start since the 2012 campaign. The 10 goals that have found the back of the net for DBU are the most that have been scored through the first three games of the year since 2007, when the Patriots also scored 10 in their first three matchups.

 - All nine of the freshman on the roster for DBU have seen action through the first three games of the season for a combined total of 1,092 minutes. As a fan, that is something that should excite those who follow the team for the years coming.

- The lineup for Michelle Lenard's side has seen three different changes through three different games, once again displaying one of the biggest themes of this Patriots side – they are deep, versatile, and tough to scout. With multiple formations and multiple players who can fill multiple rolls in those formations, Lenard's side has many options.

SCOUTING TEXAS WOMAN'S
 - TWU finished the 2019 LSC regular season campaign in 4th with an overall record of 15-5-1. The Pioneers would lose in the NCAA Tournament to the same Dixie State side that knocked off DBU.

- The Pioneers return All-Conference selections Jazmine Navarro, Abigail Martinez, Lexi D'Abrosca, and Maddy Harper. Between those four returners, TWU scored 15 goals and had 7 assists.

- Head Coach Babak Abouzar is in his 9th year at TWU and his 8th at the helm. Abouzar has accumulated a record of 66-54-15 during his time at TWU and is coming off one of the programs best years in 2019.

- The Pioneers come into the game with a 1-0 record, beating Oklahoma Christian by a score of 4-0 in their conference opener.
