DBU Goes 1-2 During Grueling Weekend Action

THE RUNDOWN
The Lady Patriots (14-5, 4-3 LSC) went 1-2 throughout weekend action in Arlington, Texas. DBU started the weekend with a 1-6 loss at the hands of No. 12 Angelo State that snapped a five-match win streak that was second best in the conference. The Lady Patriots would finish Friday's doubleheader on a positive note by shutting out Texas Wesleyan, 5-0. Saturday brought DBU a tough, 4-3 loss to the Javelinas of A&M Kingsville as the Lady Patriots dropped consecutive LSC matches for the first time this season.

The tandem of Kate Daugherty and Taylor Leslie knocked off the 13th-best doubles team in the country in Angelo State, 6-1. The duo would continue their rampage by knocking off TWU to capture their 10th win of the year. Sarah Castleberry and Adriana Carpenter also had a strong weekend as a pairing. The combo picked up two wins in three days, including a dominant, 6-1 outing against A&M-Kingsville.

While DBU flexed its muscles over the Javelinas during doubles play, the singles portion of Saturday's contest became a gritty test of endurance. Although the Lady Patriots took TAMUK to extra sets in five of the six matches, Kate Daugherty was the only one to record a win during DBU's most grueling match of the season.

HEAD COACH WADE MORGAN ON THE MEN'S WEEKEND
"The women showed a lot of heart this weekend playing some very physically tough matches. I think we learned a lot about ourselves and we have some good motivation to finish the season strong and gear up for the tournament."
