Dallas Baptist University announced the hiring of Jess Jobe as the new head coach for the DBU Men's Soccer team.  Jobe, returns to DBU where he was an assistant coach for the DBU Women's Soccer team from 2011-2017 including a two-year stint as the program's associate head coach.  Following his time at DBU, Jobe became the co-head coach for the women's soccer team at Northwestern State University, an NCAA Division I program in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Jess Jobe and his family back to University Hill," DBU Director of Athletics Connor Smith said following Monday's announcement.  "Jess brings a wealth of coaching and leadership experience and is passionate in advancing Christ-centered championship athletics at DBU.  We are looking forward to the future of DBU Men's Soccer under Jess' leadership."

The Lady Demons surrendered one goal or fewer 17 times in 22 matches and registered eight shutouts, which was the most in a season for NSU since 2009.

In his first season in Natchitoches in 2018, Jobe's squad won 10 matches and reached the SLC Tournament.  Prior to the 2018 season, NSU had made only one appearance in the SLC Tournament.

In 2018, Jobe tutored All-Southland Conference selection April Trowbridge (league best 13 goals, which was tied for 13th in the nation at the end of the regular season) as she led an offense that finished 30th in the nation with 2.10 goals per game.

"First I want to thank Dr. Wright, Jonathan Teat, and Connor Smith for entrusting me to lead the Men's soccer team going forward," Jobe said.  "I am grateful for this opportunity and for the support the administration and DBU community has shown to our family.  I can't wait to see what God has planned for the future of this program and am eager to be back at Patriot field this fall."

Before NSU, Jobe spent the past seven seasons on the DBU staff, the last two as associate head coach after three seasons as the top assistant and two as a graduate assistant.

During his time at DBU, the Patriots were a top 25 program in each of those seven seasons, qualifying for six NCAA Division II Tournaments with a 108-35-11 mark in that span.  DBU won the Heartland Conference regular season and tournament titles in 2017, advancing to the Division II NCAA Tournament and finishing with a 15-4-2 record.  The Patriots appeared in the regional championship (Sweet 16) twice, winning the title and advancing to the national quarterfinals in 2015.  Jess helped guide the Patriots to four conference regular season titles (2011, 2012, 2015, 2017) and four league tournament titles (2011, 2015, 2016, 2017).  Five Patriots have achieved All-American status with 12 regional selections and 55 all-conference picks in Jobe's seven seasons at DBU.
