Charles-Alfred Shines in ITA Cup Action

DBU Women's Tennis' Angela Charles-Alfred posted completed recently at the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia. In first round action, she came within inches of defeating a top 5 player in the country last year from Nova Southeastern, Julie Razafindranaly, falling by a score of 2-6,6-0,6-7. The graduate student product from Saint Pierre, Martinique, went toe-to-toe in a second round battle against Ana Carla Resende from Carson Newman and came up just short, falling in straight sets.

On day three, Angela rallied back mentally to end the tournament on a high note taking out another national ranked opponent from last year, 6-2,6-2 and ending her fall season record with 10 wins and 4 losses.

During her run, Charles-Alfred took out four nationally ranked opponents in straight sets. She is the first DBU player to win a match at the ITA Cup
