THE RUNDOWNÂ
The DBU Men's Golf Team claimed their second title this season at the DBU Classic this afternoon. Freshman Brecken Franklin led the Patriots and tabbed his second top-three finish in two events. Â
Rainy and soggy conditions caused most teams to shoot their highest team score in today's final round. DBU won the tournament by three strokes, finishing today with a team score of 288 to put them four-over for the tournament. Midwestern State followed, carding a 287 today to place them in second. Western New Mexico finished in third. On the individual side of the tournament, UT Tyler's Seth Campbell won first-place honors by two strokes. Â
In round three, Franklin posted an even-par finish to round out three solid scores. He finished tied for second place with Midwestern State's Seth Bearden. Brannan Cox carded a one-over 71 to place fourth. Sam Jenkins and Bryce Womack posted a 73 and 74, each finishing within the top 20. Â
DBU B placed sixth and was led by sophomore Jack Wilson (B) who carded a one-over 71 today to finish ninth. Christian Barber (B) and Lucas Borrero (B) both earned top-25 finishes. Â
