Collegiate Baseball Names Bragg National Pitcher of the Week

DBU's Braxton Bragg was named the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's National Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Bragg, a junior right-handed pitcher from Kansas City, Missouri, made his Patriot debut on Opening Day versus Fordham and threw 5.0 scoreless innings with a career-high 12 strikeouts. Bragg's 12 strikeouts were the most by a Patriot pitcher on Opening Day in program history. The veteran righty also surrendered just one hit and did not allow a walk en route to earning the win.

A transfer from the University of Nebraska, Bragg becomes the fifth pitcher in DBU Baseball history to earn National Pitcher of the Week honors joining Colin Poche (2016), MD Johnson (2019), and Dominic Hamel (2020 & 2021). Bragg was also named Conference USA's Pitcher of the Week earlier today.

Bragg and the Patriots return to action on Tuesday when they face UT Arlington at Globe Life Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
