DBU Run-Ruled by No. 12 Oklahoma State in Stillwater

THE RUNDOWN
Four home runs and 19 hits thrust Oklahoma State (15-3) past DBU (11-6), 20-4, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Freshman Grant Jay's performance at the plate offered respite for the Patriots, as he went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.

After a scoreless first inning, Oklahoma State used a series of five singles and a defensive error by DBU to put five runs on the board in the second.

The Cowboys scored another trio of runs in the third, pushing across Nolan Schubert, who led off the frame, on a Carson Benge double and hitting a pair of two-out singles to extend the lead to 8-0.

The Patriot broke up the shutout when Miguel Santos drove in Grant Jay on a sacrifice fly to center field in the fourth.

Oklahoma State answered DBU's one run with three in the home half of the same inning, this time using a home run in addition to an RBI single.

Down 11-1, the Patriot offense found a rhythm in the fifth. Kodie Kolden kept his perfect 16-game on-base streak alive with a leadoff double.

Three batters later, George Specht record his fourth RBI of the year on a sac fly to score Kolden, and Grant Jay smashed a two-run homer to right field to tally what would be DBU's final runs of the game.

The Cowboys once again responded to the Patriot attack in the bottom of the fifth. Oklahoma State mashed three home runs in the inning, including two by Chase Adkison in a nine-run frame for the home team that finished the scoring of Tuesday night's affair.
