PATRIOT STORYLINES
- The Patriots are riding a 10-game winning streak after going 4-0 last week with a win against Baylor on Tuesday and a sweep of Florida Atlantic over the weekend. The 10-game winning stretch is the program's longest since 2015.
- Following DBU's sweep of FAU over the weekend, the Patriots remain a half-game out of first place in the Conference USA standings behind UTSA.
- DBU boasts the No. 17 RPI in the nation according to D1Baseball.com, the best of any team in the state of Texas.
- During DBU's 10-game win streak, Miguel Santos has hit a team-high .429 batting average and is also riding a career-high 13-game hit streak. Jace Grady is also hitting .408 with four home runs during that stretch.
- Tom Poole returned to the lineup last week and hit .353 in four starts with two home runs, including a grand slam, drove in seven runs, and compiled a team-high .882 slugging percentage.
- DBU's pitching staff ranks in the top 25 nationally in four categories including No. 10 in strikeouts per 9 innings (11.2), No. 18 in ERA (3.84), No. 21 in hits allowed per 9 innings (7.74), and No. 25 in shutouts (3).
- Kyle Amendt leads C-USA and ranks fifth nationally in saves (8). 34 of his 45 outs have been by strikeout and his strikeout per nine innings average is an astounding 20.4.
- DBU's 77 stolen bases are 18th-most in the nation. That mark already holds sixth place for the program's single-season record. The Patriots are on pace to break the record held by the 2004 team that swiped 113 bags.
- DBU has the best fielding percentage in C-USA (.978), which is currently a greater percentage than the program single-season best of .977 from 2018.
 
SCOUTING UT ARLINGTON
- The Mavericks won two of three against Sacramento State in a WAC series last weekend.
- UTA has won six of its last seven games.
- Rylan Black has the WAC's ninth-highest batting average (.367) for a squad hitting .285 collectively.
- The Mavs' 84 doubles on the year are the 15th-most in the nation. Tyson Pointer (14 doubles) and Garrison Berkley (13 doubles) are both within the top five of their conference.
- The UTA pitching staff owns a 6.77 ERA.
- Gray Bailey has a team-leading 15 appearances and the best ERA (4.08) and WHIP (1.13) of any pitcher used exclusively in relief.
 
SERIES HISTORY
DBU has a 45-36 edge over UTA since the series began in 1969. The Patriots have won 11 of their last fourteen meetings against the Mavericks, including a 14-3 victory on February 21 at Globe Life Field.
