DBU Baseball's Kyle Amendt has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List. Amendt is one of 56 relief pitchers from across the nation to be named to the list.

A redshirt junior from Pleasantville, Iowa, Amendt boast a 1.06 ERA and his nine saves are the fifth-most in the nation. In 17.0 innings this year, Amendt has struck out 37 batters for an average of 19.6 strikeouts per nine innings. The Patriots' closer has also compiled 10 consecutive scoreless appearances and has not surrendered a run in his last 10.2 innings of work.

The NCBWA will announce the finalists on Wednesday, June 7 with the winner of the 18th annual NCWBA Stopper of the Year award being named on Friday, June 16 at the 2023 College World Series.

Amendt and the Patriots return to action on Friday when they travel to Houston, Texas, to face the Rice Owls in game one of a three-game series at Reckling Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
