Pustejovsky's Late Goal Earns DBU a 1-1 Stalemate with Lubbock Christian

THE RUNDOWN
DBU battled to a 1-1 draw against Lubbock Christian on Saturday night at Patriot Soccer Field. The field didn't see its first goal until the first few seconds in the second half from LCU. Evan Pustejovsky scored the equalizing goal in the 61st minute.

Momentum hung in the balance as the first half proved to be a fast-paced and physical battle that ended in a scoreless tie.  The pitch saw 10 shots from both sides in the 45 minutes with three on goal. LCU's Justin Martinez made the first shot of the game but was unable to find the goal as it was saved by Garrett McGee in the first nine minutes. The team's defensive play was the main showcase in the half.

Seconds into the second half, the Chaps went up 1-0 after Nako Amare's shot found the back of the net. The rest of the half would be a fight for DBU to catch up, and they were given multiple opportunities to do so. However, in the 61st minute Evan Pustejovsky delivered the equalizer on a set piece chance making the score 1-1. In a burst of urgency the Patriots fired three shots in the final minute from Jack Golden, Peyton Voelker and Cason Berg, as they made one last effort to pull DBU ahead but the shots were blocked making the final score a 1-1 draw.
