Patriots Finish 30th at Mid-States Championships

THE RUNDOWN  
DBU Bowling finished in 300th place this past weekend at the 2024 Mid-States Championships in Wichita, Kansas, the first of four Tier-1 tournaments on the Patriot schedule this season.
 
The Patriots started off Saturday with six team games of 777, 840, 835, 847, 705, and 781. On Saturday night, the Patriots were sitting in 299th place. Junior, Paul Marquez, led the team, averaging 175 over the course of the six team games.
 
On Sunday, the Patriots fired off 16 baker games, averaging 160. Unfortunately, DBU was unable to gain any ground on the field, settling to 30th place. Alongside the average leader from DBU on Saturday, the varsity lineup had contributions from Sophomores Ryan Lira, Trenton Wagner, Justin Dirden, Gael Ortiz, and Freshmen Chase Walker, JT Santos, and Zack Wassam.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW 
- DBU finished 27th in the Mid-States Championships last season.
- Zack Wassam is currently the team average leader at 179 through three tournaments.
- DBU has completed three of the five tournaments slated for the Fall semester.

UP NEXT  
The Patriots head to Fort Worth, Texas to continue conference play with SWIBC III & IV on November 9 & 10. The tournaments start at 8:00 a.m. on both Saturday & Sunday.
