Bowling Earns Solid Placements at SWICB III & IV in Fort Worth

THE RUNDOWN  
DBU Bowling continued their 2024-25 season and conference play at Cityview Lanes in Fort Worth, Texas, for SWIBC III and SWIBC IV.

The Patriots started Saturday with four team games of 831, 867, 884, and 952. After adding 1858 pins in ten baker games, the Patriots came away with a seventh-place finish out of ten teams totaling 5392 pins. Sophomore Ryan Lira led the team, averaging 191.5 over the course of the four-team games.

On Sunday, the Patriots played six team games, totaling 707, 832, 843, 857, 802, and 942. This resulted in a ninth-place finish out of ten teams. Junior transfer Travis Sorola led the team, averaging 171.5 over the course of the six-team games.

Alongside the average leaders from DBU on Saturday and Sunday, the varsity lineup had contributions from Junior Paul Marquez, Sophomores Trenton Wagner and Justin Dirden, and freshman Zack Wassam.

DBU also fielded a JV team, which was led by an all-freshman group of Chase Walker, Justin Reyes, David You, and Gael Ortiz.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW 
- DBU finished 6th and 7th is SWIBC III & IV respectively last season.
- On Saturday, DBU matched their season-high team game of 952.
- After competing in the Mid-States Championships, DBU ranked 107th out of 163 teams that have competed this season.

UP NEXT  
The Patriots head to Fairview Heights, Illinois, to compete in the National Collegiate Team Match Games on November 23 & 24 for the first time in program history. The tournament starts at 9:15am on Saturday.
