The DBU Bass Fishing Team showcased their exceptional skills and determination at the recent Bassmaster College Qualifier stop #1 on Clarks Hill Reservoir. The event in Augusta, Georgia, proved a monumental success for the team as they secured impressive placements and qualifications, earning valuable points for the Association of Collegiate Anglers School of the Year race.

 

Luke and Brax, a dynamic duo representing DBU, delivered a stellar performance, placing 23rd in a highly competitive field weighing 29-13 for their two-day total. Their strategic approach and unwavering focus paid off, solidifying their spot in the upcoming 2024 Bassmaster National Championship. Reflecting on their achievement, Luke commented, "We knew we had to bring our A-game to this tournament. It's an honor to qualify for the National Championship and represent DBU on such a prestigious platform."

 

Not to be outdone, Hunter, a solo angler from the DBU Bass Fishing Team, showcased his exceptional skills, securing a commendable 24th place finish weighing 29-10 for his two-day total and an extraordinary comeback with his 17-1 bag on day 2. His perseverance and ability to adapt to changing conditions earned him a well-deserved qualification for the National Championship. Hunter expressed his excitement, saying, "Competing solo was a unique challenge, but I'm thrilled to have earned a spot in the National Championship. Overall, I'm blessed to be given this opportunity from DBU to compete in my last season solo, and couldn't be more grateful"

 

Ty and Andrew, another formidable duo from DBU, demonstrated their prowess on the water, clinching an impressive 27th place finish, having 29-2 for their 2-day total. Their determination and synchronized efforts paid off, securing their qualification for the National Championship. Andrew shared his enthusiasm, stating, "We've been working hard as a team, and it's incredibly rewarding to see our efforts translate into qualification for the National Championship. We're excited to represent DBU and compete against the best collegiate anglers." Ty added " I feel like the team worked together really well this week. Both the team as a whole talking about game plans and areas of the lake, as well partners working well together and being efficient".
