LAST TIME OUT
The DBU Women's Tennis team improved to 7-2 after matches at the Arlington Texas Center over the weekend. On Friday, the Lady Patriots won both matches, defeating Texas Wesleyan and Texas A&M-Texarkana with a 7-0 shoutout. DBU fell to Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday in a 3-4 loss. 

Caroline Hudson and Madalyn Smelley led the way for the Lady Patriots with two wins at the line 2 and 3 singles position. Leonie Schonelmaier, Isabella Arana Rios, Sofia Teran, Emily Buchanan, and Sarah Stewart each compiled wins in singles play. 

In doubles action, Isabella Arana Rios and Sofia Teran teamed up to go a perfect 3-0 at the line 1 position, while Caroline Hudson and Madalyn Smelley (line 2) and Sarah Castleberry and Jenna Payne (line 3), each went undefeated in three matches. 


PATRIOT STORYLINES
- The Lady Patriots return to action this weekend when they face McMurry and Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, TX. 
- Through three matches, DBU is a combined 22-11 in singles play and owns a 15-2 mark in doubles.
- The team of Caroline Hudson and Emily Buchanan is a perfect 6-0 in line 3 doubles. 


SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS

The Lady Patriots will face McMurry and Hardin-Simmons on Friday. McMurry competes at the NCAA Division III level and is out to a 2-4 start this spring. The Lady Patriots own the all-time series, going 16-0 against the War Hawks since their first matchup on March 9, 2007. Hardin-Simmons competes at the NCAA Division III level and is out to a 1-3 start this spring. The Lady Patriots own the all-time series, going 6-0 against the Cowgirls since their first matchup February 2, 2013. 


UP NEXT
DBU will travel to California, where they will face Menlo College on Saturday, March 2, Fresno Pacific on Monday, March 4 and Stanislaus State on Tuesday, March 5.
