STUNT

STUNT Falls for First Time in 2024 to Oklahoma Baptist

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU STUNT program was back at the OBU Noble Center on Sunday where they lost for the first time this season, 22-6, to Oklahoma Baptist.

Quarter 1 - Partner Stunts Score: 2-3 The Patriots started out looking very strong in quarter 1. OBU started with possession and called routine 5. DBU received the point for this first round, and it set the tone for the entire quarter. The Patriots were evenly matched with the Bison and kept the score close. Quarter 2 - Pyramids and Tosses Score: 4-7 Starting

Quarter 2 - Routines 2, 1, 6, and 5 were called, with the Patriots tying the points in routines 1 & 2. This gave the Patriots the motivation to finish the half with great energy and a sense of accomplishment.

Quarter 3 - Jumps and Tumbling Score: 4-11 This was a challenging quarter for the DBU STUNT team. They gave up all four points to the Bison and were struggling through some mental mistakes and lots of steps.

Quarter 4 - Team Routine Final Score: 6-22 The Patriots finished to the best of their ability in quarter 4 and continued to look focused, encouraged, and competitive. It was a closer game than the final score reflects. Despite this, the Patriots still fell short of the Bison with a final score of 22-6. "Scoring six points against OBU is a huge win for us," said Senior tumbler Morgan Ward. "Our goal was to go out there and play a game we were proud of and show others that we can put up a fight against a hard competitor. There was a bit of an energy drop after losing all points in quarter 3, but we were able to pick up the pace again. I'm beyond proud of my teammates for overcoming and loving one another so well."
