PATRIOT STORYLINES
- DBU won their eighth straight game to open the 2024 season with a 14-4 win over Oklahoma State in seven innings on Tuesday at Horner Ballpark.
- The Patriots are out to an 8-0 start for the first time in the program's Division I era, dating back to 2004. The 1987 team competed at the NAIA level and was the only team in school history to win their first nine games.
- DBU's offensive is currently ranked in the top 25 nationally in 10 categories, including #10 in Doubles (24), Home Runs (18), Home Runs per Game (2.25), & Slugging % (.647), #12 in Doubles Per Game (3.0), #13 in Runs (88) & Scoring (11.0), #18 in Batting Average (.345) & Hits (96), and #25 in Stolen Bases (17). 
- The weekend rotation of Ryan Johnson, Jaron DeBerry, and James Ellwanger have combined to go 3-0 with a 3.47 ERA and have struck out 45 batters while issuing just nine walks in 31.1 innings.
- Miguel Santos has hit five home runs in the last six games and his five home runs are the third-highest total in the nation entering this weekend.
- On the mound, the DBU ranks ninth nationally in strikeouts per nine innings (12.3) and 11th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.69). 
- Three Patriots are hitting over .400, including Michael Dattalo (.444), Grant Jay (.419), and Miguel Santos (.414).
- Defensively, DBU has committed only four errors, and their .986 fielding % is 18th-best in the nation.
- Of the Patriots who have started all eight games, Grant Jay leads the team with a .935 slugging percentage, good for first in Conference USA.
-  DBU is a perfect 17-for-17 in stolen bases and is one of only seven teams in the nation to steal 15 bases or more without being thrown out.

SCOUTING ARIZONA
- The Wildcats enter this weekend following a series loss at San Diego as well as a midweek loss at No. 5 TCU.
- Garen Caulfield is a dangerous hitter in the Arizona lineup, batting .500 with 11 RBI on 15 hits.
- Projected Friday starter Jackson Kent earned Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week for his performance against previously ranked Northeaster.

SCOUTING INDIANA
- The Hoosiers are coming off a sweep of Baylor in Waco this past weekend but suffered a midweek loss to Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday.
- Sophomore Devin Taylor has leaped out to a hot start in 2024, batting .500 to go with 8 RBI and 3 home runs.
- Indiana starting pitcher Connor Foley has yet to give up a run, striking out 14 batters in 10 scoreless innings.
- As a team, the Hoosiers rank 18th in Division 1 in home runs per game (2.0).
 
SCOUTING ALABAMA
- The Crimson Tide enter the Frisco Classic with a perfect 9-0 record under new head coach Rob Vaughn.
- Gage Miller and TJ McCants play crucial roles in the Alabama offense, with both players already surpassing 15+ RBI and 5+ home runs.
- Alabama's pitching staff ranks ninth nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 3.83.
- As a team, the Crimson Tide are hitting.363, good for ninth in Division 1.
 
DBU VS. THE FIELD
The Patriots are 0-1 all-time against both Arizona and Alabama. DBU will face Indiana for the first time on Saturday.

DBU will play their first true road game at Baylor on Tuesday, March 5. First pitch is set for 6:30 pm.
