COUNTDOWN TO TIP-OFF
The DBU Basketball team will travel to Canyon, Texas, to compete as the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Quarterfinals on Saturday at 7:30 pm. The Patriots open the tournament against the No. 23 Colorado School of Mines Orediggers, who are making their 13th all-time appearance.Â
DBU returns for the eighth time in school history after putting together a 24-5 season and an 18-4 mark in a highly competitive Lone Star Conference. The Patriots enter the postseason with an offense of All-Conference selections in Cameron Kahn, Ricky Lujan, Ta'Jay Dunlap, Deng Dut, and Trevor Frank. Colorado School of Mines clinched its tournament ticket with a 24-8 overall record. The Orediggers ended the regular season on a three-game win streak before falling in the RMAC semifinals and earning a spot in the NABC top 25 rankings.Â
The two teams meet for the second time since 2012 with a trip to the semifinals on the line.Â
PATRIOT STORYLINESÂ
- The Patriots are 1-1 against NABC's top 25 schools this season, highlighted by an 89-84 win over No. 6 Colorado Mesa to open the season.Â

- CSM scores 77.7 points per game and holds opponents to 69.9.Â
- The Orediggers lead the RMAC in assist/turnover ratio (1.38), its three-point percentage (38.8), and scoring defense (69.9).Â
- CSM is ranked second in the conference in assists per game (16.8) and rebounds per game (37.69).
- Sam Beskind leads the conference in assists (153), assists per game (4.8), assists/turnover ratio (2.32), and is ranked second in defensive rebounds per game (5.75).Â
