PATRIOT STORYLINES
- DBU swept a three-game series at home against New Mexico State last weekend and are tied for first place in the CUSA standings at 5-1 in league play.
- The Patriots' 23-4 record is tied with the 2015 team, which hosted the Dallas Regional, for the best record through 27 games in program history.
- DBU enters this week ranked in the Top 10 in all four major polls: #7 Perfect Game, #8 D1Baseball, #8 NCBWA, #10 Baseball America.
- It marks the first time in program history that DBU has been ranked as a consensus Top 10 team. The #7 ranking is also the highest in program history.
- The college baseball season has hit the midway point, and the Patriots currently boast the #20 RPI in the nation, according to D1Baseball.
- Starting pitching and defense has been a strength for DBU in 2024. The Patriots rank #5 nationally in ERA (3.59) and fielding % (.984).
- The Patriots are chasing last year's team, which set a record for fielding % (.978). DBU has played error-free baseball in 18 of their 27 games.
- Ethan Mann was named CUSA Hitter of the Week for the second time this year after hitting .529 and leading DBU in six offensive categories, including doubles (4), hits (9), RBI (10), slugging % (.978), and total bases (19).
- Grant Jay's 12 home runs are the most in CUSA, and he is 12 round-trippers away from tying Austin Listi's single-season home run record when he hit 24 in 2017.
- DBU's 51 home runs are the 14th-most in the country. Four Patriots have hit eight or more home runs, including Grant Jay (12), Chayton Krauss (8), Ethan Mann (8), and Miguel Santos (8).
- The Patriots are on pace to hit 108 home runs in the regular season. Last year's team set the school's single-season home run record with 119.
- Chayton Krauss is on a 19-game hit streak, hitting .402 (31-77) with 6 home runs and 23 RBI over that 19-game stretch.

SCOUTING TARLETON STATE
- Tarleton State enters the contest with a 15-13 record after taking 2 of 3 games at Stephen F. Austin.
- With a 5-7 conference record, the Texans are tied for eighth place in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
- Tarleton State has four players hitting .300 or better: Kooper Shook (.347), Tyson Drake (.322), Cole Miears (.320), and Cris Enriquez (.305).
- On the mound, projected starter Parrish Beagle comes into Tuesday night's game with a 1.53 WHIP through 17.0 innings pitched.
- Head Coach Fuller Smith is in his first season with the Texans after spending the previous decade at Sam Houston and UT Arlington as an assistant coach.
