On Tuesday, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced the finalist for the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team and named DBU Chayton Krauss as one of three first basemen on the list. Krauss, a junior from Coppell, Texas, joins Edgar Alvarez of Nicholls State and Wake Forest's Nick Kurtz as the three finalists up for the award at first base.

Krauss started all 60 games for the Patriots in 2024 after transferring from Grayson College. In 429 chances, Krauss registered a .995 fielding percentage and went 405 consecutive chances before committing his first error at the Tucson Regional.

Today's announcement marks the second consecutive year that a player from DBU has been selected as a finalist for the Gold Glove Award. In 2023, Nathan Humphreys was named a finalist as a centerfielder. Evan Bigley is the only player in DBU Baseball history to win a Gold Glove Award when he received top defensive honors in 2008.
