On Friday, DBU Baseball's Ryan Johnson was announced as a First Team All-American by Baseball America. Johnson, a junior right-handed pitcher from Red Oak, Texas, was one of four starting pitchers named to Baseball America's First Team.

Johnson etched his name in DBU Baseball history in 2024 after setting the single-season strikeout record with 151 punchouts and also became the Patriots' all-time strikeout leader with 314 strikeouts over the past three seasons. Johnson finished the year with an 11-3 record and a 2.21 ERA, which ranked as the sixth-lowest in the nation. Johnson also ranked third nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (10.79).

Today's announcement marks the fourth All-America Team that Johnson has been selected for. The Patriots' ace was also tabbed a First Team selection by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game and garnered Second Team honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association.
