Wells R. Crowther was a Division 1 lacrosse player for Boston College. Shortly after graduating college in 1999, Wells took a job in NYC as an equities trader and worked in the south tower of the World Trade Center. He was working on the day of the attack, September 11, 2001. Wells was able to successfully evacuate 12 people from the 78th floor to the 61st floor before his death when the south tower collapsed. He was remembered by the people he rescued as "the man with the red bandana." It's the same red bandana he's worn since childhood. This red bandana symbolizes Wells' bravery and heroism, the man who saved a dozen others.

Every year, the DBU Lacrosse program runs 110 flights of stairs to commemorate the 110 flights of stairs that Wells ran to save the lives of 12 people. Each player on the team is given a red bandana before they run, which serves as a reminder of Wells's selfless sacrifice.

The word of the week for the DBU Lacrosse team was Integrity. Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody else is looking. The team has been working hard on and off the field to be men of integrity in every circumstance.
