THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • This victory is DBU's first win at this event since 2020 and their eighth overall since 2014. They previously had a seven-year winning streak from the years 2014 to 2020.

  • DBU took first place in this event for the first time since 2020 when the Patriots posted a 24-under team score. That was also the last time a DBU player won individually with Olivia Mitchell's 12-under finish. Last season, the Patriots tied with Findlay for the team title and fell short in the playoff, finishing second.

  • Ella Cheek's win at the DBU Classic marks her second career first-place finish and her largest winning margin of five-strokes. Her first title came last Spring at the Lynn Invite where she won by two strokes.

  • With their five-under finish in the third round, Cheek and Grant join DBU's low round versus par record book. Nine other Patriots posted rounds of five under in years past, and the current record holder is Faith Delagarza, who carded an eight-under finish at the 2022 Lone Star Conference Championship.

  • Senior Brandee Fleming (Individual) posted a career-best 54-hole total of 217, shooting rounds of 73, 72, 74. In Fleming's sophomore year, she posted a 220 finishing at the Southern Invite which was her standing low-tournament score before the DBU Classic.
