COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF
The DBU Men's Soccer team fell to the no.24 UC Colorado Springs, 3-1 Saturday afternoon. An Evan Pustejovsky goal in the 74th minute brought the Patriots back within striking distance but the Patriots' effort to find the equalizing goals came up short, finishing the game with a final score of 3-1.

The Patriots had a few early chances but were denied by the UCCS defenders and goalkeeper.
Patrick Banich notched his first save of the match after a shot by the Mountain Lions in the 8th minute. Oscar Ronquillo would get a foul in the 23rd minute leading to UCCS being awarded a penalty kick. The penalty kick was taken by Dani Barajas who got the shot past Banich and scored the match's first goal. Nine minutes later Barajas landed a second goal that the Patriots were unable to answer, making the score 2-0 at the end of the first half.

DBU could not get past the defense of UCCS in the second half, and the Mountain Lions remained in control. Banich saw consistent shot attempts but was able to keep the opponents from adding to their advantage. The final goal for the Mountain Lions came in the 70th minute. With 15 minutes left in the match,
Evan Pustejovsky got the Patriots on the board with a high-center goal thus bringing the game to a close as the Patriots' effort to find the equalizing goals came up short, finishing the game with a final score of 3-1.
