COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF

DBU and UT Tyler tied in a 1-1 match Thursday night at Patriot Field. Senior Peyton Voelker gave the Patriots their first goal of the season in the second half off a Hunter Dierlam assist. However, a UT Tyler equalizer in the 84th minute left DBU with their first draw of the season.

Patriots Field saw a tight battle between DBU and UT Tyler throughout the first half as neither team was willing to concede. The Patriots posted four shots with one on goal with UT Tyler posting eight shots and three on goal. It was a foul-heavy first half with each team posting six fouls each.

The Patriots start the second half with strong momentum as Avery Brazell on the breakaway tries to get a cross in for a shot attempt but it was cleared at the goal line by UTT.

Moments later, UT Tyler attempted to get a shot off of a header but Banich was there to clear it away to keep the score even.

Voelker would score in the 76th minute awarding DBU a 1-0 advantage off of an assist by Hunter Dierlam Into a seemingly empty goal as Voelker UTT goalkeeper Alan Johnson came out of the goal. Voelker would try for a brace not 30 seconds later but it was off target. UTT eliminated the deficit as Julian Smith slipped a shot past Banich with the equalizer in the 84th minute. Each side would see several more goal attempts but no one was able to find the go-ahead goal with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.
