THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Tennis team opened their fall season at the DBU Invitational this weekend at the Arlington Tennis Center. Facing opponents from ETBU, Lubbock Christian, Texas A&M-Texarkana, Texas Wesleyan, University of Dallas, and Weatherford College, the Patriots posted a solid overall showing on their opening weekend.

Edgar Mayorga led the way for the Patriots, going undefeated in singles play winning all three of his matches, and teamed up with
Braxton Jett to go 3-0 in doubles action.
JW Altman also shined in doubles play with a 2-1 record. Freshman
Kell Castleberry had a strong debut, going 2-1 in singles and posting a 2-1 mark in doubles with
Ricardo Carvajalino.

"We knew it was going to be a tough weekend, but the guys did a good job overall. Tiebreakers got the best of us this weekend, so we know that we need to practice those more, but overall, I'm happy with where we are right now going into the fall season."

UP NEXT
DBU travels west to Abilene, Texas, to compete in the Abilene Quad. The two-day event begins on Friday.
