LAST TIME OUT
In a tightly fought crosstown matchup, DBU and UT Dallas battled to a 1–1 draw last Wednesday night at Patriot Soccer Field. The result secured a valuable point for the Patriots in the Lone Star Conference standings, moving their league record to 1–1–1.
UTD jumped ahead early when Kingsley Annan capitalized from close range inside the six-yard box to put the Comets in front. The Patriots responded in the 20th minute after a pivotal moment inside the penalty area.
Erik Oliveira was fouled by Annan, and following video review, DBU was awarded a penalty. Senior midfielder
Gavyn Rosales stepped up and calmly buried the equalizer into the bottom right corner to bring the match level at one apiece.
From that point forward, both defenses tightened the screws. Possession swung back and forth in the second half, but neither side could break through. The Comets held a narrow 4–3 shot advantage after the break, yet the scoreboard remained unchanged as the match ended in a stalemate.
