LAST TIME OUT
DBU Men's Soccer dropped a 3-0 decision to ninth-ranked Midwestern State on Wednesday evening at Patriot Soccer Field. The Mustangs struck early to seize control, sending the Patriots to 1-2-1 in Lone Star Conference play.
Midwestern State wasted no time finding the net, as Liam Kervick scored just over a minute into the match. The Mustangs doubled their advantage moments later when Alan Rivera converted in the fifth minute, putting DBU in an early hole.
The Patriots generated several promising looks late in the opening half but were unable to capitalize, heading to halftime trailing 2-0.
In the 55th minute, DBU appeared to cut into the deficit when
Erik Oliveira slipped a close-range shot past Mustang goalkeeper Daniel Robles, but the goal was waved off due to an offsides call. Midwestern State later added an insurance tally in the 78th minute courtesy of Cooper Tea to secure the 3-0 final.
