LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Patriots split their two-game road trip last weekend, defeating St. Mary's (8-11, 5-4 LSC) in four sets on Friday night before losing to St. Edward's (6-8, 3-6 LSC) in four sets Saturday afternoon.

In the win over St. Mary's, Lauren Witte had arguably the best game of her young collegiate career. The Freshman from Fulshear led everyone on the court with 15 kills, added a whopping six service aces, and tied it all together with 12 digs— giving Witte her seventh double-double of the season. Aizlyn Dewberry and Kalin Hubbard were effective from the middle in the win, combining for 12 kills on 22 swings while committing just one error. In the fourth and final set on Friday, DBU held the Rattlers' offense to a negative hitting percentage (-0.033) to seal their fifth straight victory.

The win streak would come to an end less than 24 hours later against St. Edward's— a young team with an explosive offense that was firing on all cylinders Saturday. For the first time all season, in a game that featured DBU, the leading attacker was not a Lady Patriot. The Hilltoppers' defense showed out as well, becoming the first team to hold the Lady Patriot offense to a hitting percentage under .100 this season (.078). However, Ella Swinn provided a bright spot offensively, leading everyone on the floor in efficiency (minimum five attempts) with a .412 hitting percentage.

This weekend, the Lady Patriots return home, welcoming storied conference opponents UT Permian Basin (6-12, 4-4 LSC) and Angelo State (13-6, 7-1 LSC) to The Burg Center. Coming off a loss, head coach Jordan Fish and her troops will look to get back into the win column Friday night against the UTPB Falcons.
