Men’s Basketball Ranked No. 3 in NABC Preseason Poll

| By:
The DBU Men's Basketball team has been ranked No. 3 in the NABC Preseason Top 25, as announced by the National Association of Coaches on Tuesday. The No. 3 ranking is DBU's highest preseason ranking in school history.

The Patriots are coming off a year in which they set the program record for wins, going 34-5 (19-3 LSC), and won the program's first LSC regular season title, LSC tournament championship, and NCAA DII South Central Regional title. DBU made the NCAA postseason for the eighth time in the last ten years and made it all the way to the national semifinals of the NCAA tournament.

The Patriots return 12 players from last year's record-breaking group, led by the 2024-2025 LSC Defensive Player of the Year, Xavion Brown. The Patriots' senior guard is surrounded by an army of returners who each played vital roles in last year's national semifinal run, and three newcomers: Isaiah Dozier, Bishop Jones, and TJ Thomas.

The reigning NABC South Central Region All-District Coach of the Year, Dr. Blake Flickner, will have his troops ready to open their season against No. 13 Michigan Tech at the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic on November 1 in Lakeland, Florida.
