Strong Finish Propels No. 25 DBU to Third at the DBU Classic

THE RUNDOWN
The No. 25 DBU Men's Golf team closed out their fall season in impressive fashion, earning their third consecutive top-three finish with a third-place showing at the DBU Classic on Tuesday at the Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club in Rockwall, Texas.

Battling steady 25-mile-per-hour winds and gusts reaching up to 50 miles per hour, the Patriots displayed grit and resilience throughout the final round, firing a 1-under 287 to surge up the leaderboard. DBU entered the day 11 shots back of Southern Arkansas, but stormed back to finish at 2-over par (866) for the tournament—two strokes clear of the Muleriders.

No. 9 St. Mary's captured the team title at 9-under (855), finishing eight shots ahead of No. 3 Central Oklahoma.

Leading the charge for DBU was senior Sam Jenkins, who carded back-to-back even-par rounds on Monday before delivering a clutch 3-under 69 in Tuesday's finale.

Daniel Ferguson joined Jenkins in the top 10, finishing tied for eighth at even par, while Brecken Franklin also cracked the top 20 with a tie for 16th at 3-over.
