LAST TIME OUT
The DBU Men's Soccer team battled until the final whistle on Saturday night but came up just short in a 2-1 loss to Lubbock Christian at the LCU Soccer & Track Facility. Freshman Bryan Beck tallied his first career goal late in the match to put the Patriots on the board, but the comeback fell just shy as DBU dropped to 2-3-2 in Lone Star Conference play.

Lubbock Christian struck first in the 16th minute when Kade McKinzie found the net from close range, giving the Chaps a 1-0 edge they carried into halftime after outshooting DBU, 7-3.

In the 80th minute, Francisco Horta extended the LCU lead with his team-leading fifth goal of the season. The Patriots answered immediately—just 41 seconds later—when Beck capitalized on a scoring chance to cut the deficit to one.

DBU pressed hard in the closing minutes, maintaining possession and creating several quality looks. The Patriots fired three shots down the stretch, including a dangerous attempt from Jared Perez in the 88th minute that forced a key save from LCU goalkeeper Connor Pettigrew to seal the result.
