DBU Bowling finished 16th place out of 29 teams at the 2025 Mid-States Championships in Wichita, Kansas, the first of five Tier-1 tournaments on the Patriot schedule this season.
The Patriots started off Saturday with six team games of 875, 1008, 791, 871, 850, and 1000. On Saturday night, the Patriots were sitting in 17th place. Freshman,
Garrett Smith, led the team, averaging 197.33 over the course of the six team games.
On Sunday, the Patriots fired off 16 baker games, averaging 174.25. That was enough to gain one spot and secure a 16th place finish, averaging 181.84 for the tournament. Alongside the average leader from DBU on Saturday, the varsity lineup had contributions from Senior
Paul Marquez, Juniors
Zack Wassam,
Seth Haney, and
Noah Raleigh-Turner, and Freshmen
Cade Carson,
Stephen Connor, and
LaDarrius Thomas.
DBU also fielded a JV team which was comprised of Junior
Ryan Lira, Sophomores
Justin Reyes,
David You, and
Chase Walker, and Freshmen
Brent Moody,
Jacob Wilson,
Joshua Carrillo, and
Sebastian Stuart. The JV team finished 8
th out of 19 teams, averaging 175.33 for the tournament.
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- DBU has previous finishes of 27th and 30th at Mid-States Championships.
- For the first time in DBU Bowling history, multiple 1000-pin team games were recorded in the same tournament.

The Patriots head to Marrietta, Georgia this weekend for the Bowlero Southern Classic. This is DBU's first appearance at this event. The tournament starts at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 1 at Bowlero Austell.
