LAST TIME OUT
The DBU Men's Soccer team secured a crucial three points in Lone Star Conference play with a 3-0 road win over St. Mary's on Wednesday night at Sigma Beta Chi Field in San Antonio. Redshirt freshman forward
Caden Berg led the charge with the first two goals of his collegiate career, propelling the Patriots to a 3-3-2 record in conference action.
Berg wasted no time sparking the DBU attack, bending a right-footed shot into the top corner just eight minutes in to give the Patriots an early lead. The advantage doubled nine minutes later when
Erik Oliveira found the back of the net for his team-leading sixth goal of the season.
The momentum carried into the second half as Berg struck again in the 56th minute, calmly slotting home his second goal of the night to seal the decisive victory.
Despite being outshot 16–12, the DBU defense held firm behind redshirt sophomore goalkeeper
Sean Mattivi, who matched a career-high with seven saves. The performance earned Mattivi his second shutout in just his fifth career start, anchoring another strong defensive effort for the Patriots.
