The DBU Women's Soccer coaching staff has been named the Lone Star Conference's Coaching Staff of the Year. Head Coach
Marcus Wood, along with Assistant Coach
Cory Marr and Graduate Assistant Coaches
Caroline Havard and
Allyson White, earned the recognition after guiding the Patriots to another remarkable season.
Under Coach Wood's leadership, DBU captured the Lone Star Conference regular-season championship and enters the LSC Tournament with an impressive 16-1 record.
The Patriots have been dominant on both ends of the field in 2025. DBU currently sits atop the United Soccer Coaches National Poll at No. 1, while ranking among the nation's elite statistically. The Patriots boast the No. 2 scoring offense in NCAA Division II, averaging 3.65 goals per match, and stand No. 3 nationally in goals allowed, surrendering just 0.29 goals per contest.
This year's honor marks the third time Coach Wood and his staff have received the league's top coaching distinction, following previous selections in 2022 and 2023. Their continued success reflects a culture of consistency, excellence, and championship-level performance that has become the hallmark of DBU Women's Soccer.
