LAST TIME OUT
Saturday night, 1605 fans packed The Burg Center to conclude the homecoming week festivities on University Hill, as DBU took on the undefeated St. Edward's Hilltoppers.
​
The Patriots trailed by as much as 19 points on Saturday, entering halftime without the lead for the first time all season. Coming out of the break, DBU immediately rattled off an 11-2 run, which cut SEU's lead to ten.
​
The Patriots would continue to chip away throughout the second half and would finally tie the game with 2:38 remaining via a Trevor Frank midrange jumper. The Hilltoppers then out-scored DBU 6-3 in the final two and a half minutes, and survived a last-second Drew Calderon attempted three that would've sent the game to overtime.
​
Despite a +9 turnover differential and Xavion Brown's first double-double, the Patriots dropped their second one-possession loss of the young season.

PATRIOT STORYLINES
New Faces: TJ Thomas (12.8) and Bishop Jones (11.5), the two transfers from the most recent offseason, are first and second on the team in points per game.
Quick Draw: DBU leads the country in turnovers forced per game (25.83), and is second in the country in steals per game (16.2).
Hot Hands: Earlier this month, the DBU defense forced 30+ turnovers in back-to-back games for the first time in program history (11/15 - 35, 11/20 - 31).
Big X: Xavion Brown (20) has the fourth most steals in the country.
Uncle Drew: Through the first six games of the season, Drew Calderon's team-leading free-throw percentage sits at 88.2%, nearly a 30% improvement from last season (58.5%).

SCOUTING ADAMS STATE
- In the 2024-2025 season, the Grizzlies posted a 12-16 (7-13 RMAC) record, and they finished their season without a berth into the RMAC Tournament.
- Adams State has started the year 4-1, with wins over three schools in the Lone Star Conference (Permian Basin, Midwestern State, Cameron).
- The Grizzlies are led by senior forward Wyatt Helming. Listed at 6-7, Helming is the first player the Patriots have faced this year who is averaging a double-double. Specifically, he's averaging 17.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game.
- Helming leads the RMAC in both rebounds and blocks per game.
- Sophomore forward Emilek Jallow is averaging 15.4 points, 1.6 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.
- Adams State leads the RMAC in blocks per game with 5.2 (14th in the nation).
- Head coach Kenny Tripp is in his third season as a collegiate head coach, spending all of them with Adams State. Cook holds a career head coaching record of 24-37.

- Greg Moore Jr. leads the 'Riders in scoring; the 6-4 senior guard is averaging 17.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.25 steals per game.
- Moore Jr. leads the GAC in three-point percentage (50%) and free-throw percentage (90.5%)
- Senior guard Troy'reon Ramos is averaging 13.0 points and 3.5 assists per game.
