STUNT Wins Fifth Straight in 15-7 Win Over St. Mary's

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU STUNT team won a crucial match against Lone Star Conference foe St. Mary's, 15-7 on Friday in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The victory is the Patriots' fifth straight to begin their season.
 
FINAL SCORE (DBU- 15 and St. Mary's- 7)
Quarter 1 - Partner Stunts Score: 3-1 The Rattlers had possession and called routine five to start the game. The Patriots won the point and kept the momentum going by winning three out of four possible points.
 
Quarter 2 - Pyramids and Tosses Score: 5-2 Both teams made a few mistakes in this quarter. St. Mary's started this quarter with routine seven and the Patriots forfeited. After many missteps, the Rattlers did not receive the point. DBU fought hard and received two points in this quarter, keeping them ahead by only three.
 
Quarter 3 - Jumps and Tumbling Score: 7-3 Following halftime, DBU continued to prove how fierce of a competitor they can be. They fought through a few mistakes and continued to come out on top. Lexi Walsworth, a third-year veteran, had a strong performance in the quarter. "Lexi is in every single tumble and is a dependable teammate. She is consistent in every routine she is in, and the rookies look to her for confidence," says Head Coach Callie Taylor.
 
Quarter 4 - Team Routine Final Score: 15-7
The back-to-back games were starting to catch up to the Patriots and it showed in this quarter. With multiple stunt falls, DBU let the Rattlers creep up on them. After a challenging timeout from the coaches, the Patriots finished strong in the last two routines and came out on top.

DBU will face Maryville University on Saturday in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
