The DBU STUNT program was back in action on Friday, dropping a hard-fought 13-12 decision to NAIA competitor Hope International University.

Quarter 1 - Partner Stunts Score: 1-3 The Royals are a very strong stunting team, and it showed in the first quarter with them taking three out of four points. With a huge win in routine seven, the Patriots stole the momentum going into the second quarter.

Quarter 2 - Pyramids and Tosses Score: 2-5 HIU called routine 8 to start the quarter and did not receive the point. DBU fell to the Royals in routine 2 and routine 6. To end the quarter, the Patriots called routine three and won the point.
Grace Hejl, a third-year senior, helped her team to receive the point in routine three and kept the energy high going into halftime.

Quarter 3 - Jumps and Tumbling Score: 5-6 After halftime, DBU came back determined to close the score and they succeeded. After stealing the first three points of the quarter, HIU resulted in calling routine 8 so the score would stay the same as both teams forfeited.

Quarter 4 - Combination Routine Final Score: 12-13 In an energetic final quarter, DBU continued to creep up on HIU. With only two routines left in the final quarter, both teams were tied nine to nine. The Patriots called routine seven and tied the point in partner stunt, stole the point in tumble, and the Royals took the pyramid point. For the last round of the quarter, HIU called routine 6. The Royals won the partner stunt and pyramid, and DBU won the jump and tumble leaving the Patriots down by one.
