Men’s Tennis Prepares for Showdown with ETBU

LAST TIME OUT
The DBU Men's Tennis team remains undefeated at 4-0 following their dominant 7-0 shutout victory over Schreiner in Kerrville, TX, on February 14th, marking another impressive non-conference win. The Patriots were flawless throughout the match, sweeping every game with ease. Matthew Abbey led the way with a 6-1, 6-0 win at line 1 singles. Ricardo Carvajalino followed with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at line 2, and Arturo Langle secured a 6-0, 6-1 win at line 3. Fabian Rosales, Arturo Beitman, and Kell Castleberry completed the singles sweep, each winning in straight sets.

The doubles match mirrored the team's success in singles. Fabian Rosales and Ricardo Carvajalino cruised to a 6-1 victory at line 1, while Matthew Abbey and Arturo Langle added a 6-2 win at line 2. Mariano Guzman and Zach Capone wrapped up the doubles sweep with a 7-5 win at line 3. With this commanding performance, DBU showcased their depth and strength across both singles and doubles, keeping their perfect record intact as they head into their next match on February 25th.



PATRIOT STORYLINES
- The Patriots hold a perfect 4-0 record in the spring season.
- Arturo Langle and Fabian Rosales both boast perfect 4-0 records in doubles play.
- The doubles team of Matthew Abbey and Arturo Langle is undefeated at the No. 2 position with a 3-0 record. 
- The Patriots have a 22-2 record in singles play and a 9-3 record in doubles. 


SCOUTING EAST TEXAS BAPTIST
- DBU will face East Texas Baptist on Tuesday.
- East Texas Baptist competes at the NCAA Division III level within the American Southwest Conference and has started the spring season with a 1-0 record.
- The Patriots own the all-time series, 7-0, against the Tigers since their first matchup on February 9, 2013. 


UP NEXT
The Patriots will host UAFS at home on Friday, February 28, before traveling to Oklahoma to face Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday, March 1.
