Women’s Tennis Gear Up for Weekend Action Versus Trio of Opponents

LAST TIME OUT
The DBU Lady Patriots women's tennis team wrapped up a successful four-day road trip in Honolulu, Hawaii, dominating each of their matchups. They opened with a 7-0 win over Stanislaus State, sweeping all three doubles matches and winning every singles match. On Monday, they continued their strong play with another 7-0 victory over Chaminade, again sweeping doubles and securing straight-set wins in singles from Robinson, Schondelmaier, Smelley, Arana Rios, Buchanan, and Payne.

The Lady Patriots faced a tougher challenge on Tuesday but still emerged with a 4-3 win over Hawaii Pacific, sweeping doubles and picking up singles victories from Arana Rios, Buchanan, and Delgado. They finished their trip with a 6-1 win over Hawaii Hilo on Wednesday. Throughout the week, the Lady Patriots were consistent, sweeping doubles in every match and earning key singles victories, including Robinson's first line 1 singles win. Coach Morgan praised the team's toughness, especially in challenging conditions, as they proved to be a dominant force throughout the road trip.


PATRIOT STORYLINES

- The Lady Patriots are off to a perfect 6-0 start this spring, showcasing their strong performance and determination in their first six matches.
- Emily Buchanan is undefeated at 6-0 in singles, while Andrea Delgado and Isabella Arana Rios hold perfect 5-0 records.
- Katherine Robinson earned her first singles win at the line 1 position as a Lady Patriot during the Hawaii trip.
- The doubles team of Isabella Quintero and Andrea Delgado is 5-1 at the No. 3 position, while Emily Buchanan and Jenna Payne are 4-1 at the No. 2 position.
- The Lady Patriots hold a 28-8 record in singles play and a 13-5 record in doubles.


SCOUTING UAFS
- DBU will face UAFS on Friday. 
- UAFS competes at the NCAA Division II level within the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and has started the spring season with a 0-1 record.
- The Lady Patriots own the all-time series, 10-4, against the Lions since their first matchup on March 18, 2010. 


SCOUTING SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE
- DBU will face Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday. 
- Southeastern Oklahoma State competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Great American Conference and holds a 4-0 record so far this season.
- The Lady Patriots own the all-time series, 8-6, against the Savage Storm since their first matchup on March 2, 2005. 


SCOUTING CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
- DBU will face Central Oklahoma on Sunday. 
- Central Oklahoma competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and has a 4-1 record to start the spring season.
- The Broncos own the all-time series, 3-8, against the Lady Patriots since their first matchup on April 3, 2009.

The Lady Patriots will host a doubleheader at home on Friday, March 7, facing McMurry at 10 a.m. and Hardin-Simmons at 2 p.m.
