Bowling Starts Spring with Record Setting Weekend at SWIBC V & VI

THE RUNDOWN  
DBU Bowling continued their 2024-25 season and conference play at Plano Super Bowl in Plano, Texas, for SWIBC V and SWIBC VI. The Patriots started Saturday with four team games of 920, 976, 873, and 948. After adding 1871 pins in ten baker games, the Patriots came away with a fifth-place finish out of 11 teams totaling 5588 pins. Sophomore Trenton Wagner led the team, averaging 211 over the course of the four-team games.
 
On Sunday, the Patriots played six team games of 915, 867, 836, 848, 829, and 882, totaling 5177 pins. This resulted in a sixth-place finish out of 11 teams. Sophomore Trenton Wagner once again led the team, averaging 188.83 over the course of the six-team games.
 
The varsity lineup had contributions from Junior Travis Sorola and Paul Marquez, Sophomores Ryan Lira and Justin Dirden, and Freshmen Zack Wassam.
 
DBU also fielded a JV team, which had contributions from Junior Katelyn Matheus, and Freshman Justin Reyes, Kamren Lopez, David You, and Mackenzie Lewis.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW 
- This season's SWIBC V & VI weekend was the most successful regular season SWIBC weekend in program history.
- DBU Bowling averaged 186.26/game in SWIBC V, the highest team average/game in program history in a single tournament.
- After both tournaments, DBU ranks 116 out of 181 qualifying teams nationally.

5 - A fifth-place finish matches the best single tournament finish for DBU Bowling.
211 - The highest individual average recorded by a DBU athlete in program history.
116 - The highest DBU Bowling has ranked nationally within USBC Collegiate in program history.

The Patriots conclude the regular season with SWIBC Championships on February 8 & 9 at Bowlero Thousand Oaks in San Antonio, TX.
