DBU ENTERS SPRING SEASON
The DBU Men's Tennis team opens its spring campaign in Conway, AR this weekend. The Patriots will face Hendrix, John Brown, and the University of the Ozarks. Their last event in the fall was the ITA South Central Regional Championship in Tyler, Texas. 

The Patriots posted several strong performances headlined by the doubles teams of Matthew Abbey and Alec Rule, along with JW Altman and Fabian Rosales, who won their opening rounds in A draw action before falling to top-seeded teams in the second round. Zach Capone and Ricardo Carvajalino also advanced into day two with a win in the back draw of doubles. Oliver Whittaker and Mariano Guzman also won the B draw in doubles play.

Day one in singles play proved to be a solid showing from the Patriots as Ricardo Carvajalino, Mariano Guzman, Edgar Mayorga, and Alec Rule all won singles matches. Carvajalino, Rule, and Guzman each advanced into day two action.



PATRIOT STORYLINES
- The DBU Men's Tennis team kicks off their spring season on Friday with matches against Hendrix and John Brown.
- The Patriots return 13 players from last year's roster.
-  Matthew Abbey, Zach Capone, Ricardo Carvajalino, and Oliver Whittaker are the sole seniors in this year's spring lineup for DBU.
- The Patriots are excited to welcome freshman Kell Castleberry as he prepares for his first spring with the team.
- DBU also brought in junior transfer JW Atman from Idaho State.


SCOUTING HENDRIX
- DBU will face Hendrix on Friday at 8 am. 
- Hendrix competes at the NCAA Division III level in the Southern Athletic Association. 
- The Warriors are out to a 0-1 start this spring after falling to the University of the Ozarks, 5-2. 
- The Patriots own the all-time series, 3-0, against the Warriors since their first matchup on February 11, 2022. 


SCOUTING JOHN BROWN
- DBU will face John Brown on Friday at noon. 
- John Brown competes at the NAIA level in the Heart of America Conference.
- The Golden Eagles are currently 3-0 to start the spring season after defeating Southwestern College (7-0), University of the Ozarks (6-1), and Oklahoma Wesleyan (5-2). 
- The Patriots own the all-time series, 5-0, against the Golden Eagles since their first matchup on April 7, 2006.


SCOUTING THE UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS
- DBU will face the University of the Ozarks on Saturday at 9 am. 
- The University of the Ozarks competes at the NCAA Division III level in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
- The Eagles are out to a 1-0 start this spring after defeating Hendrix, 5-2. 
- The Patriots own the all-time series, 4-0, against the Eagles since their first matchup on February 27, 2021.
